Departure

A luggage storage service is available to you free of charge to help you find your belongings upon arrival. A luggage tag is provided in your bib envelope—remember to attach it to your bag before handing it over to our organizing team.

We advise you not to put any valuables in your bag.

For drop-off: please arrive from 5:00 AM at at the roundabout in Bourg d'Oisans, at the junction with the D1091 and the D211.

Please note, only the bag from L’Étape du Tour de France is accepted in the luggage storage.

For retrieval: you can collect your bag after receiving your medal and enjoying the refreshment area.

Before you get to your start area and set off on the 170km route to L'Alpe d'Huez, you can enjoy a free breakfast. This will give you all the strength you need to brave the 5,400 m of ascent!

L'Étape du Tour de France starts are staggered over 17 start areas to ensure that all participants enjoy a smooth and safe race.

• You should have received your SAS area number in advance
• Volunteers and signage will be on hand to help you.

Please respect the start area that has been allocated to you for reasons of sporting logic, fluidity and safety on the course.

• Your handlebar number will be checked at the entrance to allow you access to your allocated start area.

The following criteria were used, in this order, to allocate the various starting groups:

1. Real-time ranking in L’Étape du Tour 2025, 2024, 2023
2. Whether you hold a 2026 FFC licence and your category
3. Whether you have taken part in a recognised cyclosportive
4. The sporting objective for L’Étape du Tour 2026 as stated during your registration
