Only 2 months to go until L’Étape du Tour de France: here’s the essential information to help you prepare in the best possible conditions.
The Village
The bib collection village, decked out in the colors of the Tour de France, will be set up in Alpe d’Huez, which will also host the finish of L’Étape du Tour de France. It’s the perfect opportunity to stroll between the stands, discover the latest offerings from our partners and enjoy the Tour de France activities at your own pace. Entry is free and open to everyone!
Village opening hours:

Feed stations 7 feed stations will be spread out along the route: 5 full stations and 2 liquid-only stations.
Start times
Starts will take place between 6:30AM and 8:30AM in Bourg d’Oisans. Your exact start time will depend on your starting wave, which will be communicated to you in the coming weeks.
Time cut-offs
To ensure participant safety and to meet the commitments made to the authorities and local communities, 4 time cut-offs will be implemented along the route.
- 11:32AM at Col de la Croix de Fer (KM 38,5)
- 12:33PM at St-Jean-de-Maurienne (KM 68,5)
- 03:45PM at Valloire (KM 100)
- 06:19PM at the bottom of Col de Sarenne (KM 149)
Mandatory equipment
In addition to the usual gear (helmet, water bottle, repair kit), a front light as well as a red rear light will be mandatory and must be turned on at specific times. This year, earlier start times will involve low-light conditions. Since the descent of Alpe d’Huez in the morning will be done exclusively by bike, this equipment will be essential to ensure your safety.
Respect for the environment
A pouch will be provided to you so you can store your gels, wrappers and other personal waste, which is still too often found on the climbs.
Waste collection points will also be available at each feed station. Once again this year, any participant caught discarding waste outside of the designated areas will be immediately disqualified.
