M-3 Training plan
Some of you will finish the race in 5 hours, others will take over 10 hours to reach the finish. One thing is sure: you must train, be properly equipped, feed and hydrate yourself to overcome L'Étape du Tour de France.
What's the secret to achieving your objective? Preparation!
This practical guide put together by the Direction Technique Nationale de la FFC (French Cycling Federation’s National Technical Management) will offer you a 14-week training plan broken up into 3 periods:
- The first month focuses on speed,
- The second on strength,
- And the third on power.
Each week is made up of 3 sessions: a basic training session, a long intensity session and a session dedicated to elevation gains.
L'Étape du Tour de France will be one of the most memorable rides of your life, so you must ensure that it doesn’t turn into a gamble.
To prepare for this big day in the mountains, get organised ahead of time, check the weather forecast and be ready to ride in the best and the worst mountain conditions thanks to your versatile clothing which will suit all your needs!
